Loulou Buxbom is a visual artist from Denmark living and working in Bergen, Norway. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in fine art from The Art Academy – Department of Contemporary Art in Bergen, set to graduate in June 2025. She holds a BFA from the Art Academy in Tromsø and has studied Visual Art at Copenhagen Art School and Estudio Nomada in Barcelona.
The artist has participated in numerous group exhibitions and screenings, e.g. Spring exhibition, Kunsthall Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Landmark, Bergen Kunsthall, Tromsø Center for Contemporary Art, FetFilm, Stockholm, Flat Earth Film Festival, Island, Michael Laundry Art Garden, Bergen, Gallery Small Projects, Tromsø.
I use text-based painting and film as tools to critique and engage with psychological issues within family dynamics, social heritage and my own habitus. I am continuously questioning my identity through personal experiences and familial relationships, investigating how our habitus shapes our behaviour. Driven by a desire to understand how our backgrounds influence our perspectives and presence in the world, I pose questions about the intersection of the private and the public. Through relatable and self-exposing work, I encourage dialogue about class, behaviour, and attachments.
